According to Hindu mythology Airavata is the king of elephants, belonging to the deity, Indra. Captured in a playful mood here, he is seen reaching out for a pomegranate off a whimsical tree. This embroidery attempts to combine design elements from Indian Kalamkari paintings and English Crewel embroidery. This embroidery needs intermediate skills – some working experience with basic stitches.
